Villa Capra is an 18th-century Neo-Palladian Venetian villa in Sarcedo (province of Vicenza).
Built in 1764 by architect Count Orazio Claudio Capra, "who raised it to the glory of himself and his household," with interventions by Francesco Muttoni and Ottavio Bertotti Scamozzi, it is an example of a villa in neoclassical taste that is clearly
inspired by the architecture of Andrea Palladio.
The Capra family sold the villa to Giuseppe Bassani (1796-1879) in 1850. Giuseppe Bassani was the father of Elia great-uncle of Bruno Fortunato, the current owner, and Enoch Giovanni Battista Bassani (1832-1898) grandfather of physiologist Enoch Peserico,
who also owned the Bassani villa in Longare, Vicenza.
